I have got over it. I've made peace with the whole experience. I do these threads so others may see what a scam the whole thing is.
Thank you for your concern "anewme"
it these tough economic times many of us have looked back at the decisions we made concerning money with much dismay.
the organization has cost many people 100's of thousands of dallors or more over the course of their life time.. 1. all the time and gas spent on knocking on doors.. 2. brothers that ripped you off in business.. 3. all the money i gave my exwifes dead beat relatives.. 4. making just minumum wage for two years of poineering.
than going to bethel for four years making only $22 a month, 9 dallors of which went for subway tokens.

What has it "cost" you in dallors and cents?
looking back its amazing how many alcoholics i knew in the "borg"...................... there are 3 elders in my old hall alone........ that are full blown alcoholics...................... when, have you ever heard of someone.......anyone.......let alone and elder............ getting "dfed" for drinking too much?.
when i was at bethel........you wouldn't believe how much drinking was done there!.
there are stories of the old days ( russell & the judge)..where they would find guys passed out in front of the 124 building on sunday mornings........no big deal, just dust them off.............. and bring in.
One of my favorite stories is about my exfather inlaw. Ben Reagon, he was made an Elder in 1973 in the Newport R.I. KH.
He looked acted just like "Gomer Pyle" I.Q. maybe 60
I was at his house when he got this call from this poor black sister who just got beat up by her worldly drunk husband. She was crying and didn't know what to do. His advice?
"Have beer and forget the whole thing!"
Elder wisdom at it's best.
james olsen and richaed wheellock both bethelites.. rich templet.
rich and james out of guilt, richard out of depression.. james and rich were both under 30 years old.. after richard wheelock (a bethel heavy) killed himself the society changed it's stand on whether suicides could be resurrectioned or not..
I forgot my x father inlaw who left (dfed) back in the 1950's....he blew his brains out in 1991. I know...so how does that count?
Well in 1974 the GB got "new light" they said you could have "limited contact" with disfellowshiped ones. This was to try and get them back in. So my exwife finally could talk to her dad, who she really loved!
Well in 1981 the GB got more "new light"....NO CONTACT what so ever. So when he called my wife, asking her if he could come up for a visit. She said "that things had changed" and now he could have no contact with her or his grand kids....it was back to tough love.
So how did the "tough love" work out.....blood and brains on the living room wall.
well i went with the wife today to the sunday circuit assembly.
it is really sad to listen to the talks and see the many people that i know.
one talk actually suggested that wisdow is wrong , to me it was just more support that we have all you need why do any research on your own.
So why are you "stuck in".....run for your life.

i'm sure at some point you have mentioed it somewhere on the site, perhaps several.
but this question is i guess personal.
for those her were born into the jdub religion, why did you leave at whatever point?
52 years as a J.W.,born in 1949 in Azusa Calif, raised in Glendora Calif. My father was DFed in 1961 for not going to the Kingdom Hall he was assigned to, by 3 brothers who later all left or got kicked out of the borg too! Pioneered in Salina Kansas 1968-1970. Was at N.Y. Bethel 1970-1974. Married in March 1974-July 2001,My Wife left me after a 27 years of marriage, because I no longer wanted to be a Jehovah Witness. Lost my sister, 99% of all my friends, and could have lost my 2 children, but they were treated so badly, because I left, that my children left the loveless organization too. We all are doing fine now. Now my ex-wife will have nothing to do with me and little to do with her kids, or her grand children. She turned her back on her own father who was Dfed in 1958! He later blew his brains out, because his 2 children (my exwife)would have nothing to do with him, plus he was not allowed to see his only grand children {my children}! and why? The only thing he was doing wrong was smoking. My father could see me and my children even though he had not been a J.W. for 40 years and he was smoking too! The only difference is, he knew it was all bullshit, got reinstated back in 1965 and faded. It is absolutly amazing what you can get people to believe in! By their love you will recognize them-------Isn't that the truth!
humans are to ants what god is to humans..... at least, that is how i see it.. ants can't know humans or entertain theories and ideas or myths about humanity.. if we step on an anthill they don't mourn and bury their dead and send prayers up to us.. we are just one more thing they have to deal with.. humans don't become an ant and live among them and die at their bidding only to rise and save a few for later reward.. humans don't help a select few ants write a wonderful and inspiring ant bible to enlighten and bond with us.. ants are extremely different from humans and the twain simply don't meet.
we barely tolerate their existence!.
but, we humans are convinced god is a guy in the sky.
Terry your way to in your head.
I am God...if you have seen me...you have seen god.
So you see it is possible to "know god!"
back when i was a jw and an attendent at the km.
i was looking at everyone sitting there at the meetings.
it was amazing when i realized that the majority of married couples that where sitting there had either mean married to someone else before, or had sex with other people before they had got into the "tooth.
Cognac I was always hoping that some day.... maybe you and well....me and a......you know....
Well I guess I should be honest....I only had sex with one person for 52 years (while in the tooth) ....from the wedding night in 1974 till 2001. Didn't think sex was all that great but had nothing to compare it to....you know "meat loaf" every night kind of thing!
So I guess I kind of made up for the fact that I missed the "sixties" free love and all that....to busy poineering well anyway....I have to say I've enjoyed 15-16 women since then and all I can say is what us bethelites used to say when I was at Bethel...
"If God created anything better then sex then....he keep it for himself!"

Ok forget about how many partners you have had....Have you been with more then one person?
